FRESHWATER & TIDEWATER FISHING REPORTS
TOWN LAKE TROUT & SUMMER STEELHEAD - 02/18/19 - The Town Lake received about 150 summer and winter run steelhead a week and a half ago making for a total of 250 steelhead this winter.
These recycled steelhead are great fly rod fish and can weigh up to an honest 10 lbs. - use 4 wt. rods and 2 to 4 lb. test tippets. A boat or float tube is a must for success on this lake.
We've tried the Town Lake a number of times for recycled steelhead over this winter - and yesterday, Jay Nicholas hooked 4 and landed 2. The winds were down, the weather was pretty nice, and we spotted about 25 steelhead to cast flies to. Jay had some great takes on an egg pattern fly and hooked a couple on a Silver Hilton Fly too.
Todd, who is an avid Red Fish fisherman from Texas, tried fly fishing for these fish a month ago and hooked and landed this beautiful male (upper right photo).
The fishing around Pacific City has been very slow this last fall and winter, but things are looking up. The ocean is due to start calming down, trout will be planted in local lakes next month, and the third week of May should see some Spring-run Chinook salmon entering the Nestucca River tidewater.

The lower photos are of some of the Spring-run and Fall-run chinook caught the last couple of years on our trips.
PACIFIC CITY DORY BOAT & DRIFT BOAT TRIPS
The Pacific City area is one of the best fly fishing locations in the United States. This area has rivers, lakes, and the nearby ocean. These waters all have excellent fishing during their seasons.
We will start running ocean dory fly fishing trips for the 2019 summer in May, weather and surf permitting, for a variety of rockfish, and salmon when in season. These trips will be fun for both advanced fly fishers and beginners. Please try to email to book trips on the dory at least a month in advance to try and insure you will get a date. The calendar will be filling up quick, so get your reservation in as early as possible.
The dory is limited to four anglers max., with a minimum of two, and we supply all the needed fly fishing equipment for the trip, - but you are welcome to bring your own fly tackle if you'd like.
Drift boat trips for salmon, steelhead, and trout, are usually run during the fall, winter, and spring time, and these all depend on weather, water conditions, and fish runs.
We work very hard to make all our trips both enjoyable and productive.
